I have 35 Days or 5 weeks until vacation. My goal is to lose a pound a week and am putting together 1200 calorie meal plans as I go to keep myself on track. Why? Because the only way I have ever been able to lose weight is by counting calories. It’s really hard so I aim for 1200 calories a day, which would be more like 2 pounds a week, but am leaving room or padding for days that I go a little over.
Will I lose weight eating 1200 calories a day?
Yes, well, I hope so because sticking to 1200 calories a day is really difficult. I find that on some days I eat lots of veggies and protein and others I eat a little bit of food I crave or really love and that helps me stay on track, but I do try and listen to my body and do what is right for me.

On Sunday, we had take-out. We got tacos for an app and I got chicken and broccoli. It was way too much. So, I used today to eat my leftovers, but still stay within 1200 calories and not waste food.

Notes:
- Find what works best for you. I like to eat a larger lunch. It helps me stay on track. Other people may prefer dinner, but I get very hungry during the day and then I am satisfied.
- I don’t count work out calories. I feel like I do not burn as much as I think I do and I might lowball the amount of calories I consume so it all works out in the end.
- I usually go over calories some days and under on others so it evens out throughout the week. If I have a cheat meal, I try and make it up with a light meal the next day.
- I try and eat throughout the day. I am less likely to splurge at night.
- I try and drink a ton of water. At least 8, 8 oz, which probably still is not enough, but it is a work in progress.
